When I first started blogging about my three legged dog Jerry back in 2006, never in my wildest dreams did I think helping those facing amputation for their dogs would be my full time job five years later. With Twitter being so incredibly large and vast, there are different types of mini-communities. It’s not enough to be insular and focus on your groups of friends. At business networking events, try to get to know people outside your group of trusted colleagues. I created an additional account for people in that group.

Abusing group invites. And if they don’t accept, don’t send the group request more than once by asking them to join via email, wall post, or Facebook message. Add an avatar and a bio at the minimum. FriendFeed is a service but it’s also a community. Many call this spam. Not humanizing your profile.
