Besides major usability issues , duplicate stories submissions , and ads that literally scream at you , Digg has yet another issue to deal with: privacy. I figure if you want private communication, go to IM. Plus, the privacy is only one way (incoming only). I was responding to Kelly who says that the privacy is still one way.

I’ve done a number of workshops the past few months with clients designed to do two primary things: Land a common understanding across the teams involved around what social media, communities and influencer programs really are and more importantly why it matters to a business. I wish that could be enough said.

My uncle knows a young girl from his community, a recent college graduate, who is looking for a social media job. Just because my work includes strong involvement with social media doesn’t mean that I need to let everyone into my personal life… or for that matter… open my privacy so you can see all my posts.

While going through the initial research we bumped into few Indian rating sites, which did not take care of person’s privacy and safety. The scope of my blog-posts span across the Enterprise 2.0 However, I still review some Web 2.0 Clean and safe, Every word for public eye goes through moderation.

Some even boast high rankings and good sized communities. I met him on StumbleUpon over a year ago and he is one of those kids who never ceases to amaze me; he totally understands social media and his 22 Reasons for You to Blog was even featured in my annual Best Posts of 2009 roundup. Glen , too, got an early start.

I needed to differentiate Digg from social media because they actually are part of a distinctive community (and as you know, I’m very passionate about Digg so it really did deserve its own category). I get fixated on one community and ditch the last, yet I still have my profiles on them and they usually get outdated within minutes.

Patience is required in building a community, seeing real results with monetization and building traffic. Some people are able to build a community but fail at monetizing their blogs. Some also build traffic but fail to build a community. Follow with Aaron Wall in how to avoid Google or they will pentrate your right to privacy.
