31 pm Driving Traffic From Blog Comments Jump to Comments Today morning, I was listening to the Episode No. PR Evangelist Neville talks about one of the blog-posts on Darren Rowse’s blog which addresses the power of commenting on blogs. The time spent on Blog-reading and commenting is really astounding.

Apparently it was hacked by some kind of redirection script that sent people who arrived from search engines including google.com (which also meant Feedburner, Gmail and Google+) to another site. I’m talking about the guest bloggers, contributors, and even blog commenters. Do You Comment on Blogs with Twitterlink Comments?

You can choose and customize between different layouts can be incorporated with other Google services like Feedburner, Picasa etc. In that way it is more or less easy to connect with other bloggers on the Tumblr platform, but it can also be a downside that it is a closed community with no external comment options.

In the meantime, I went for it the old fashioned way – by creating an XML file from scratch. I’m sure there is something similar for Mac and other platforms, but I’ll leave that to my commenters to share those with you as I’m a PC gal. <comments>[link]. <pubDate>Tue, xml version="1.0"

While the internet may have bulldozed the yellow pages and other offline directories, you should never understimate the power of word-of-mouth marketing and other old-fashioned tactics for blog marketing. Another great example is Courtney Carver’s Minimalist Fashion Project 303. When Courtney casually mentioned the idea of a minimalist fashion challenge to me over a late-night cup of coffee in San Francisco, I got so excited I jumped up and swept my cup off the table!
