I needed to differentiate Digg from social media because they actually are part of a distinctive community (and as you know, I’m very passionate about Digg so it really did deserve its own category). While my personal one is not “secret&# per se, and even has the same avatar/photo as my professional one, I find it much more useful to compartmentalize, both for following others and being followed. I read this article about microblogging [link] , and although it has not made a fan out of me, it has opened my eyes to its wonders.

Yes, Twitter and Facebook and Digg and other niche sites cost nothing to join, making social media a relatively free marketing option. You are attempting to post a long drawn out trolling style comment and you don’t have the balls to put your name on it, or use an avatar or a real email address. At least not for me.
