Digg has changed it’s social networking strategy from spotlighting key influencers who “digg&# a lot of articles to collect followers (crowd gatherers) to news from your friends.

I think one of the issues here is the inflation of language so pervasive in social networking. Ignore most (see #9 above) independent Facebook pages that use your logo and company name unless they are making gross misrepresentations or seriously harming the company’s reputation. I ran a sports site until just recently, and I LOVED to talk sports from that Twitter account. I refused to tweet more than once a day about sports on my @danielthepoet account, simply because most of my connections there are marketers or tech-obsessed folks (i.e. not so much sports fans). that is what is important here.

but I was an early adopter of social networks from when I first opened my 3.5″ On the other hand, my first ever interaction on AOL was with someone who was separated from my social network by only one degree. but i am still working with the possibility of the internet and enjoy of the opportunities of web 2.0.
