The blogger (Professor Jutras) posts his ideas, occasionally throws in some editorial and takes some light, widget-fed microblogging (the current events some students share). Gab Goldenberg writes a search marketing blog for which he has plenty of good arguments for you to follow by RSS feed. I see this seminar as a blog.

Despite the fact that he had over 50,000 Twitter followers, his entire feed was a broadcast. Their social media efforts were spearheaded by a guy who looks like a nice dude, but after studying his personal Twitter feed, it was almost the same kind of thing: the process was almost wholly automated.

In my case, I have particularly taken a liking to the News Feed. It allows for Facebook widgets, mashups, and more. Face it (no pun intended), Facebook is the ultimate stalker tool. While the preceding video might be disturbing, single young men apparently have it very easy with Facebook.) Facebook has its own API.

I agree that building a brand name is really important, but “fake&# followers who don’t even engage (or even sign on or follow their home feed, for that matter) are not going to help boost your brand. As mentioned on the comments, I have “asked&# albeit indirectly for “payment&# via widget and got nothing.

Delicious – collect news links that feed into my blog, because WordPress.com has a widget for it. MySpace – I hardly ever go there, and most of my friends there are dead (Mozart, Strauss, …). Basically I use it to listen to music and connect with musicians (that are still alive).

It should also, at the same time, be something familiar to other Facebook users, as this is what they will see in their News feeds as their friends become fans or you post updates. It can be a pain to have to re-create a new Page and re-establish months of work building your Page if you get it wrong early on. Seems to work well.
