Just because I manage to get 500 visitors a day from an article I submitted to article directories doesn’t mean you can get that much traffic doing the same thing. Use social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook to let people know about the contest. What works for me might not work for you, and vice versa.

I use this with various link-building pieces of software (such as directory and article submission software). Well, if I get 25 likes, I can secure a shorter, brandable URL. How do you know which get results?

Directory Submissions By nature, directory links are of a very poor quality. Sometimes I’ll also pay $100 or so to BOTW.org which is a human-filtered directory which can give me some great link juice. As soon as I’m cached in this directory I find my rankings to increase almost instantly. This is gold.
