I promote good content. I promote new people. Devoting a mere 15-30 minutes every day to keep the content fresh and engaging should be sufficient. Topical profiles are what I’d call the new norm. I ran a sports site until just recently, and I LOVED to talk sports from that Twitter account.

This tool can be used for a number of things like deciding on which verticals of a certain niche to enter, right down to seeing which sports professionals in specific fields are garnering the most interest at this moment in time. Consistency If you want your blog to be recognized as a household name, you better be consistent at providing quality content on a regular basis. Bloggers like Valeria Maltoni of Conversation Agent , who don’t have a team of bloggers at arm’s length, offer content on a very regular basis (in Valeria’s case, 6 days a week).

As tomorrow is an historic day – The Australian and other news.com sites move behind the paywall – what WILL we pay for, what SHOULD we pay for and what OTHER revenues streams are being missed by News.com refusal to build online communities around their content? And the use of YouTube etc to distribute the news about the Paywall.
