Create a Facebook page and give your visitors something free to become a fan of your page. Bookmark your main site, and sub-pages at social bookmarking sites. Submit articles to at least five article directories. Share your blog entries on your Facebook wall and Google Plus page.

Just because I manage to get 500 visitors a day from an article I submitted to article directories doesn’t mean you can get that much traffic doing the same thing. Use social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook to let people know about the contest. Build a Facebook fan page for your blog.

You can also use twitter based directories like twellow , wefollow , etc to find people who fall into the same categories as you. Facebook – Your greatest asset here is going to be your Fan Page. Join these conversations and add value to the communities. After you’ve found these people join their conversations.

Social blogmarking sites. Another underutilized but effective way to get traffic to your blog is by making use of social blogmarking sites. Even though this concept looks similar to social bookmarking sites like Digg and Reddit, it operates differently. Ning communities. Not all Ning communities bring results.

A week later, he realized that Facebook might be a better way to go. He created a Fan page, added a Like button to his blog, and messaged all of his Facebook friends about his latest post. He bought a couple of courses, got himself listed in a bunch of directories, and created a linkwheel or two. Community is king.

Directory Submissions By nature, directory links are of a very poor quality. Sometimes I’ll also pay $100 or so to BOTW.org which is a human-filtered directory which can give me some great link juice. As soon as I’m cached in this directory I find my rankings to increase almost instantly.
