Let it be posted on every social platform of choice and then watch as it seeds through other communities (which is likely to happen and shows that your marketing is viral). Of course, you can also just use a Facebook application for that. What other tips would you add to this list? Buy something, get something. I held back.

Some of the sites I recommend for educational materials include: Free Sphinn : Sphinn is an Internet Marketing social news site. Users submit timely news articles to Sphinn, and the community votes up the best stories to appear on the front page. Word travels. That, my friend, is the money quote.

Many companies just see this as a new avenue to push existing traditional marketing messages, and this is why they almost always fail. For example an article with “10 Reasons You Should Buy Travel Insurance&# is almost never going to go viral, it’s not surprising, shocking, interesting or in any way sticky.

Ben’s blog, which covers entrepreneurship and social media, is wonderful despite him blogging for less than a year (he started shortly after his 16th birthday!). I tweet more frequently too, using HootSuite (my favorite Twitter application by far) to schedule tweets down the road. I promote new people. Using varied keyword targeting lists per username might be a good idea; that way, you’re likely to get a diverse following. I promote good content. I promote friends.
