I discovered AdSense (Google’s advertising network), and started putting their ads on my blog. Amazon was just a bookstore back then, and I was earning 4–5% commissions on $10 books. had an advertising network, and I started putting their ads on my blog, along with some from Chitika. For example, I found talking to many bloggers who blog about spirituality of different faiths or politics that advertising doesn’t always work so well on some of those, particularly advertising with advertising networks like Google’s AdSense. Another reason that I like Amazon is that it’s not just books on Amazon.

It also allows you to add threaded editorial comments on the admin panel without having to send a separate email. You still need to check in daily and engage with those who retweet you or comment, but you can look like you’re active all day if you do at least a bit of pre-scheduling.
