I’ve been involved in selling web software online for years; just not in this industry. Although I do have one of the biggest blogs in this industry, I literally have no connections with the top bloggers that I would call strong relationships. It’s good to be back.

PR people aren’t in the ad sales industry. Doing blogger outreach from a small start up in a heavy competitive industry I know how difficult it can be when you take months working on helping others to build relationships and your competitors with a lot of money simply can pay for text links, reviews, and exposure on blogs.

The title is a tad misleading; while younger Internet users (aged 18-33) are blogging somewhat less than in 2006 and gravitating to Facebook, there has been an uptick in blogging among those 33 and older, and blog readership is up among all age groups.

To break it down to its most basic form, you need to find one person in your industry who you can work with to help each of you take your own blogs to the next level. They write in similar industries and I happily link to their posts because I know they provide a lot of value. Thank you for all your great articles.

Anything that shows community on your site is also a good thing in my eyes. It went beyond what most people are willing to talk about in this industry but it also came from my heart and was total truth. They were both relevant to my industry and people I’ve interacted with in the past.

In order to get mentions on other blogs then you need to be focusing on being involved in the communities for that industry online and providing the very best content that you can. but I’m sure it would interest you more than a product in the same industry from someone you’ve never heard about.
