One of the hot trends in social media these days are the crop of sites that are claiming to measure ones social media influence. They’ve basically turned your social cred into a stock market game. I’ve played around with their site for a few days, and as much as I hate to admit, I’m a bit hooked.

A few months ago, both companies were looking for marketing help and I stumbled across both job descriptions. Usually more pay, more benefits, but most importantly, the security that comes with being at the top.

I recommend The Social Media Bible or The New Community Rules: Marketing On The Social Web if you are looking for a resource like that. I've got to believe that anyone with a background like his would still see the value in old media, and realize that not all marketing campaigns ROI relate directly to sales and in fact larger issues.
