A site’s authority may rapidly rise and fall depending on what the blogosphere is discussing at the moment, and how often a site produces content being referenced by other sites. The audience of politics and web news blogs are far more likely to link to content they enjoy, rather than the readers of gossip blogs.

The phrase is very competitive and gets around 40,000 exact searches per month in Google so I think this shows that quality content around a topic (which attracts links) is really what Google and other search engines want to provide their audience.

This lack of promotion isn’t coincidental: I have a genuine aim to help as many of you as I can succeed online and I’ll do that by focusing purely on the content that I put out there, and not the money I can make with it. Ideally, all of this content would be found on just one or two services, rather than across the web.

It’s common though that when someone puts images in their post and they align nicely, things won’t look as pretty when you get the post in a feed reader.
