If your backlink profile looks unnatural Google will penalize your blog which in turn harms your search engine ranking. UR or URL rating is in direct correlation with Google rankings and pages with high UR usually get better rankings in search engines. I personally know that I check Tweetdeck, Facebook, and my email inbox far more often than necessary. If there’s a big yellow Tweetdeck button in my Dock or some links shared by my friends on Facebook, I’m going to want to click around. To that, I say: I’m writing as much as I need to write to help you do less.

They are simply the top 10 blogs in the world…according to the Technorati engine criteria. Picking a brandable name means that people can easily come back to your site time and time again via the address bar in their browser or a search engine like Google. I own an absolutely tiny blog in comparison to these heavyweights.

The best type of traffic for blogs is search engine traffic and mentions from other blogs. The other side of the coin is to focus on getting traffic from search engines or other forms, and monetising them in different ways.
