Constant software hangs, and slow downs just finally got to me and I decided it was time to take another look at Hootsuite. I’m glad I did as I’ve really enjoyed the user experience with Hootsuite. So here is my short list of things so far that have me loving Hootsuite vs Tweetdeck: Tabs – Love the tabs.

Or run a Twitter poll to get advice from your fans. Create a Hootsuite account to schedule those posts during the week. During the week… When you read something interesting and worth sharing, click the Instapaper bookmarklet to save the post in your Instapaper list. Then add it as your profile picture. No faceless outline.

The core challenge with social media optimization isn’t availability of data (with the possible exception of Twitter impressions data, as I ranted about here in my social media measurement post). The ability to easily curate content using the browser bookmarklet. Argyle automatically attaches rich tracking codes.

HootSuite offers many great features that can aid bloggers in managing their Twitter accounts for blogging uses including promotion, monitoring, keyword tracking, reputation management and more. The following are reasons I chose to use HootSuite as my primary Twitter management tool, and the ways I use it to help in my blogging.

The plug-in can publish nicely formatted messages to your Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Blogger, LiveJournal, Delicious, Diigo, Stumbleupon, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Plurk, VKontakte, WordPress, and Tumblr accounts. Install the Bookmarklet. Go through each of your blog posts and click on the bookmarklet to share your content.

Plus, Discoverly works on AngelList, CrunchBase, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, as you can see in the illustration below: Discoverly is one of my newest favorite apps, especially because knowing mutual friends is a lot more valuable than knowing that some random person I’m emailing just shared a URL on Facebook about the bogeyman.
