Whereas before when computers were only found in banks and offices, media snackers have access at home, in school, or in libraries — all for free. Previously, to have a mobile phone, you needed a large bank account. BTW – I’ve really been interacting with the Digg community more and more. It scares me.

Well, for one, social media users — that is, users on social news sites such as Digg, Mixx, Reddit — are not particularly enthusiastic about the proliferation of marketers in their community. This is a huge challenge for someone who wants to sell their product using social media.

Don’t shy away from giving your community the information needed to find you elsewhere both online and offline. Let it be posted on every social platform of choice and then watch as it seeds through other communities (which is likely to happen and shows that your marketing is viral). In other words, they don’t give a damn about the community and they seemed to have moved on — perhaps completely. Instead, since they weren’t, we are left to our own devices and seek alternative methods (which are not the right avenues of communication, but what do you do when the proper roads lead you to a dead end?).
