The value to me (although I don’t know if a lot of people are actively doing it) is the ability for me to vote on what you think is applicable to you. Delicious – collect news links that feed into my blog, because WordPress.com has a widget for it. My first invite came from an SIS/Pubcon friend, so I started digging.

Click on the “Application Settings&# link for that subsection, and another popover dialog will appear. FBML stands for “Facebook Markup Language&# , and is meant to be a shortcut for use in Facebook applications. Facebook has also enabled the use of a subset of FBML in the Static FBML application. Any wise words?

While I respect standalone email applications, having true portability for your email is killer and I have no plans to move back. If you need a reply eventually, make a note (I use Remember the Milk ; read about my widget integration here ) to follow up with the person on a designated date. You can also use Boomerang to set reminders.

They’ve seen hundreds of applications and have used a large fraction of them. More importantly, they know which applications have been successful and have a general intuition as to which design elements sink and which swim in an environment inundated by noise. Specialties in social media work are already developing.

And at the very least, claim your identity on the applicable (and at the minimum, popular) social media communities before someone else does whose presence — under your name — could be detrimental to your marketing efforts. They haven’t paid me a single dime.

That said, your (B) point is valid but not particularly applicable to what I was writing. Excuse me, but did you bother to read the portfolio on my blog (one of the widgets in the footer)? That’s why this post was written. The FTC comments I gave are, again, specific to an instance that occurred. This is part of the problem.
