Some success is from sites I purchased which were ranking on the first few pages of Google and I built some great links to get them on the first page. Ranking for how to lose weight fas t is much easier than how to lose weight because less people are optimising for that term and it will take less links to get on the first page of Google.

Although factors other than links apply, I will say that Google are very favourable towards Wikihow for a large number of terms. I’m competing against them in one industry and all factors would suggest I should outrank them, but I simply don’t. 1 site ranking Wikihow.

In the web development and SEO worlds, especially, even the industry’s best and brightest are subject to the whims of Google, Mozilla, Yelp, and hundreds of other major players. If you need to share lots of logins, or if you need to share them with more than just a couple people, consider setting up a shared spreadsheet on Google Drive.

Personal Experience What I noticed when I looked through the Google Analytics account of PluginID last year was that most of my popular posts were ones where I was not only sharing actionable content, but also talking about my personal experiences. Especially in regards to my own affiliate marketing strategy. BTW, nice post.

Whether or not an idea fits perfectly within Google’s guidelines. This may seem like quite a strange topic for someone who, for eight years, has been highly focused on the Google “right way” Not too much has changed there because I still believe in the Google way. Though at times it may seem like I’m being a bit harsh on Google, I have acknowledged that the job their staff have must be one of the hardest in the world. Google should not be getting tricked by people simply changing the date on a blog post and thinking that it’s suddenly fresh and deserves better rankings.
