The difference between ADN and Twitter. When you look at App.net initially the website itself looks like a stripped down version of Twitter. ADN pitches itself as the platform developers can trust not to shut them out, as Twitter is in the process of doing, with an open API to build apps on, and developers have flocked to it.

People are jumping on Meerkat , a relatively new app that allows us to live stream video directly to Twitter through the app. If you’re streaming a Meerkat video it’s pushed to your followers on Meerkat in real time and viewable on Twitter in real time. That immediacy for which Twitter has always been famous.

I travel with an iPad and an iPhone as my mobile office, and it’s made it a whole lot easier to stay on top of my business, my teram and my clients. Expensify is available for iPhone and Android. Dropbox is available for Android, iPhone, Blackberry, iPad and Kindle too. Available for iPad, iPhone or Android.

She’s got an iPhone and checks in on FourSuare, Gowalla, MyTown and Yelp at every coffee shop. We’d spend the next hour or two with our phones turned off, and every time a social network or an iPhone app was mentioned the offender took a shot of Tequila (I don’t recommend this). So we decided on a little experiment.

Red Bull on Twitter. Redbull gained a big following over the last 6 months on Twitter, particularly in the last 30 days. Although there are reports of the jump being mentioned millions oftimes on Twitter, I ran a Tweetreach report and found a “reach” of 3 million impressions of a little over 1,400 tweets.

On Twitter a Retweet can be a valuable way to share information with your network, build your following and pay homage to the person retweeted. If you are in a Twitter application there is likely a RT button. On Twitter if you click the retweet link under the post it will retweet it for you but will not allow you to edit.

I’ve got the app on my iPhone and I tend to use it when I’m waiting in line or killing some time. Fluther is another such site and though it seems the team may have jumped ship for Twitter recently, the site is still up and running with questions ranging from “ Should a Vegetarian expect special dishes at a party?
