Hot top: in HootSuite’s desktop version, specifically with Facebook, in addition to setting up profiles for your personal and business page (or pages you manage), you can also set up profiles for specific Facebook groups you participate in regularly. I saw this a few weeks ago and it is a boon! And, of course, you already know you can.

This same company issues laptops, email, and wireless access to all of their employees. In addition, their product support team has begun interacting with customers in a whole new way using Twitter, Facebook groups/discussions, and LinkedIn discussions to identify suggested enhancements to their products and help resolve customer issues.

Your friends in one social network may not be on the same wavelength as your friends on another, but you now show both groups what you are doing online. Like organizing your contacts in something better than “groups&#. Beeing an aggregator, heck, my old email-inbox can be that for me. I actually send people to [link] , fyi.

Why are they continually treated as a one or the other skill set when in reality both groups would be best served understanding what is on the other side of the fence? Thankfully, it had a core group of tech influencers who were the sneezers needed to bring Twitter to the mainstream. Make a remarkable product and the rest will follow.
