I started out on sites by photo bloggers I met at a photowalk in downtown Phoenix and branched out from there with people in their comments and on their blogrolls. When it comes to commenting, the obvious bonus of using this system is that you get alerted to when your favorite site has a new post. The result? Why I Use Google Reader.

You can also access your bookmarks on their site if you are ever on a public computer. Sidebar bookmarklet. You can leave a response , or trackback from your own site. Sidebar – URL shortening is all the rave, and bit.ly has certainly put their stake in the ground as the industry leader. I love that extension.

One of my commenters last week asked about the difference between social bookmarking and social networking sites. There are sites that are definitely considered one or the other, but some sites offer both bookmarking and networking features. Most people think of Twitter as simply a social networking site.
