In fact, I used a Sony Vaio laptop that had no hard drive (really), ran from a Xubuntu Live CD, and every time it booted up I would be presented with a brand new operating system. This is a community site where the content with the most votes gets pushed to the homepage. Well, I kind of do now , but I didn’t for the last year.

In order to get mentions on other blogs then you need to be focusing on being involved in the communities for that industry online and providing the very best content that you can. As I wrote on my Adsense post, the way to make the most money is by having a lot of traffic and also not being a destination website.

Where my first one has nearly 10x the traffic, it doesn’t have nearly the same amount of interaction from the community. You build it from the ground up and sold it.

Despite the current flaws in the system, I will continue to report on the numbers that it gives me. Although I don’t have any goals for the size of the community here, I still think it is an interesting metric to monitor. Subscriber Stats Feedburner is so erratic that I just can’t take it that seriously anymore.

Sites like eHow, for example, offer a writers program via Demand Studios which allows you to sign-up and write articles for their site in return for some of the Adsense revenue that each article makes.
