On a particular forum I am active on (yes, I still use them!), Sadly, this person’s post was pulled by the strict moderators on that forum; the post was purely self-promotional and nothing but. If you’re only on the forum to tell other people to visit your website or to use your product, you won’t go far.

You can use the many applications that Facebook offers, so that others can answer questions on a survey, have discussions on the forums, and/or have notes to bring awareness to a topic. Delicious Social bookmarking is a great way to share interesting links that could aid in the development of an idea, education, and/or marketing efforts.

There already is a growing forum for users to talk amongst themselves and get to know one another. That forum is frequented by the Mixx founders themselves so that they can be abreast of developments and make the user experience a fun and enjoyable one. Can’t hurt to find more social bookmarking sites!

Just one personal example, I dugg a video that one of my wife’s friends shot, and it hit the front page, and spread across to all the other social bookmarking sites and all sorts of humor sites and even TMZ and the local news. Did I post on forums? © 2006-2010 Tamar Weinberg. Did I promote by IM?

My top three forums include Cre8asite Forums , Webmaster World (which is mostly free but also has subscription-only discussions), and High Rankings Forum. In the last few years, he moved his forever-changing content online in the format of members-only training guides and forums. It is frustrating to no end.
