Install it by first going into the labs icon in Gmail and check “Add any gadget by URL&# (it’s the la st one in the lis t for right now). Jacinta uses TweetDeck. It puts twitter right where I need it, when I need it, good stuff. Then go to the settings link at the top of the page and click on Gadgets.

If youre new here or just an old friend, Id love it if you subscribed via RSS feed. Since many of you probably use a third-party application like TweetDeck or Seesmic , you may not log into the Twitter homepage that often anymore. Thanks for taking time out of your day to come hang out here! I miss Summize! ahhh, those were the days!

Pretty Link Lite : Every blog post has a long URL that includes the year, month and key words. Sometimes it’s also nice to have a short (and readable) URL to share in an email. I’m talking about a shorter version of the URL to a post on my domain. Just hover over it and an option will come up.

Sure, you can centralize some of your social media chores (great post by Chris Brogan), by using Tweetdeck or Seesmic. You can even include Twitter searches in your feed, enabling you to use NutshellMail the same way you’d use TweetBeep, or an RSS feed of Twitter search results. And it’s free.

If you see that a certain site is sending a lot of RSS subscribers, you can work to get more traffic from that source. You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers.

Jenna Langer at Livefyre told me this was because when syndicating via NetworkedBlogs, NB’s URL masks the actual blog URL, and loads the site in an iFrame. How I use it: Just as with the Facebook posts, I look for interesting posts and news items , either in my Twitter feed or RSS Reader.
