You can also use twitter based directories like twellow , wefollow , etc to find people who fall into the same categories as you. Remember Twitter is basically a giant word of mouth engine and your goal is to get people talking and then to keep them talking. Join these conversations and add value to the communities.

Don’t shy away from giving your community the information needed to find you elsewhere both online and offline. Let it be posted on every social platform of choice and then watch as it seeds through other communities (which is likely to happen and shows that your marketing is viral). Give them a reason to want to communicate.

Anyone who knows a good search engine optimization expert knows that keyword stuffing is not an approved tactic. A search engine optimization expert is usually focused on changing URL structure, optimizing title tags, and making code tweaks to a website to make sure the search engines find the site and the pages contained therein.

I became a big fan of playing games (bingo especially) at a little hub on AOL called RabbitJack’s Casino , which was considered a unique community within the AOL borders with a close-knit group of people from all walks of life. Today, search engines answer the questions that phone books needed to solve a decade and a half ago.

As for the sessions I liveblogged, there were eleven in total (see the Search Engine Roundtable’s SMX West coverage for details). The biggest challenge is maintaining thousands of bookmarks to vertical search engines. Natural language processing : search engines should begin to understand documents stored online.
