You could almost skip the aspect of setting up the layout of the blog and just start posting, going with the default blog template provided by Tumblr. If you have blog content on other platforms, including WordPress.com, Blogger, Drupal, Joomla, or others, then you might want to consider importing it into your new WordPress site.

You can create email templates for outreach and track all communications through BuzzStream. GroupHigh is a blogger outreach tool with a database of over 13 million categorized blogs you can search through. GroupHigh is a really useful blogger research tool with the only downside being a pretty high price tag. Thrivecart.

An alternative, and a solution I prefer, is to use a free CMS like Drupal, Wordpress, or Joomla. On a side note, I wonder why these one-click installs make that as default option when they clearly know that bloggers love search engine traffic. My WordPress plugins aren’t plugins that work well for Joomla or on static websites. If you aren’t comfortable with designing your own site that you can interlink for members, then something like Optimize Press (aff) gives you nice membership templates that even some of the biggest guys in IM use for their products.
