Tweetdeck – I know most of those reading will know of Tweetdeck, but I have to add this to my list as I’ve tried practically all of the different Twitter apps, and in my opinion Tweetdeck just seems to work out the best. The iPhone app is the icing on the cake. very useful.

Twitter Tweetdeck I use Tweetdeck for serious twitter sessions. It doesn’t have the advanced functionality of Tweetdeck (such as cross-posting to Facebook), but it’s so easy-to-use that it’s my favorite Twitter app. I’ve seen my average number of comments increase since I moved to Disqus.

I tweet more frequently too, using HootSuite (my favorite Twitter application by far) to schedule tweets down the road. HootSuite puts all the accounts in one single interface (you can do the same with TweetDeck and Seesmic, I believe), but in terms of passwords, I usually use KeePass to store them with other relevant account information.

Tweetdeck and the like may still be the way forward – I’m increasingly using lists in Hootsuite to segment tweeters – and the content they tweet – that I really want to keep an eye on. Its a crude attempt to socialise the application and is really no more than social media backscratching. but my own.
