Don’t shy away from giving your community the information needed to find you elsewhere both online and offline. Let it be posted on every social platform of choice and then watch as it seeds through other communities (which is likely to happen and shows that your marketing is viral). Give them a reason to want to communicate.

I tweet more frequently too, using HootSuite (my favorite Twitter application by far) to schedule tweets down the road. With Twitter being so incredibly large and vast, there are different types of mini-communities. I started following people who wrote or commented on the SEO blogs to develop my own Twitter community.

Some even boast high rankings and good sized communities. It took me 6 months to acquire a good amount of traffic and cultivate a community on my blog and the same goes for any new blogger. I had my first blog in 2000 where I did daily entries on my cross-country travels. Glen , too, got an early start. Way to go Kids!

Tamar : How long did the actual execution of the game (filming, traveling, etc) take? We didn’t have to travel far to find all these different accents! I’m sure he’s reading the comments though and that’s something they’ll consider for future iterations of the application. I loved playing.

These scenarios come to fruition in spontaneous communities, on social networks, and other self-service tools – all thanks to the availability of low cost technology and access to the world wide web. You can also not use the tools correctly or not behave appropriately within communities around the tools and market poorly.

Thanks to books like The New Community Rules , written by yours truly, Engage , Social Media 101 , and others, social media marketing is, for the time being, going to still be on people’s minds as they discover this bright and sunny marketing opportunity. I do this because I enjoy the community and I enjoy intelligent conversations.
