Our plan was to use these problems to plan future content that addresses specific needs you have (and we’ll do that), but recently we had the idea to actually answer a lot of them, in public, and hopefully solve a lot of the dilemmas that the average blogger faces. My biggest struggle is getting blog comments.

I started out building “quick-win&# sites in order to survive from my online income, and then poured more energy into sites which I knew would only pay off a year or two down the road. For that reason, I personally use SEOHosting.com – a subset of Hostgator – who give me 30+ IP’s I can assign to separate domain names.

I’ll buy music and books and travel and all sorts of things… (Buy once – enjoy forever) However… The only things where I pay any kind of “reoccurring fee” is for web hosting and domain names. (If If I don’t pay – my property gets repossessed) I need another monthly charge on my credit card like I need a hole in my head.

Thankfully I do have great relationships with people who write content I love, like Pat and Tamar. In order to really leverage sites like Facebook, Twitter and Stumbleupon, at least for a blog, I think you really just need to focus on writing the best content you can, which is what I will continue to do.

Jeremy Schoemaker has built a profitable and content rich site in just a few years. Shoe Money though I don’t have an exact age, I would guesstimate at around 35 years old. That set me apart from other photography blogs where the content was more advanced and written in a more professorial voice. While blogging on wordpress.com and blogger.com is okay to start with, eventually you should be using your own hosting and your own domain. domain even though I was targeting an international audience.
