A few days ago, I uncovered the fact that Apple owns a bunch of mysterious domain names, most of which are resolving to a default Linux setup page on Amazon’s cloud. But today, after I reported that one of these mysterious domain names, trollqtkhoverlaysbynk.biz, was registered and then deleted, was just re-registered yesterday.

There are plenty of sites now reporting that they are seeing increases in search engine rankings, some as high as 30 of 40 places from where their site was previously ranking. I also was shown an interesting price bug at GoDaddy, where they were offering a domain name for $5,000. Pubcon Las Vegas 2014.

TopSEOs, a website that “lists” the top SEOs in the industry, appears to have been banned in Google. I’d like to mention Jenny Halasz, who, at Pubcon, was very vocal about not being on “the list” https://www.billhartzer.com/pages/34-speakers-i-want-to-meet-at-pubcon-las-vegas-2014/. There is nothing about Negative SEO in Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. After a review of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines, from what I can tell, there are no actual references to the practice of Negative SEO. So, technically speaking, is Negative SEO okay? Are you surprised? Well, I am, and I am not.

When I first started out with SEO I was determined to be as “whitehat” as possible. Matt emailed me privately to ask that my content was only preaching white hat SEO and that he wouldn’t regret linking to me. Ahrefs reports them with just 72,000 sites linking to them, but over 36 million (!) I love Gmail.
