I became a lot more conservative in choosing my friends in Facebook (as broken down in the chart below) with a few exceptions because Facebook is starting to blend in with my social media enthusiasm. The Irony: MySpace Okay, so in my previous paragraph, I mention that you should be an early adopter of social networks.

It’s not enough to be insular and focus on your groups of friends. You may find people who are surfing outside your social circle who might be potentially interested in your products. At business networking events, try to get to know people outside your group of trusted colleagues. You never know who you might meet.

Abusing group invites. And if they don’t accept, don’t send the group request more than once by asking them to join via email, wall post, or Facebook message. Add an avatar and a bio at the minimum. Social news is about reciprocal relationships. Many call this spam. Not humanizing your profile.
