Since I like looking at the social media presence of NBA teams I thought I’d run the 2011 playoff teams through the beta version of the new Klout to see how the fare against each other. Atlanta had the worst Klout score in the conference so that doesn’t sync with their surprising performance thus far in the playoffs.

What are the best free tools for analyzing a Twitter profile? During a social media audit I like to run a company’s Twitter profiles through some basic analysis tools to set benchmarks and compare them to competitors. I got good response to my post on Facebook analytics tools so I thought I’d do something similar for Twitter.

Followerwonk from SEOmoz is a great tool for researching Twitter users. The Twitter bio search allows you to easily find and evaluate users in specific areas. Klout and Kred. The value and methodology of services like Klout and Kred has been much debated and discussed, so I’ll leave you to your own opinion there.
