It is simply another trending practice that all marketers would be wise to note: Interruption of any kind is increasingly irritating and unnecessary in today’s world of technology and community. Instant messaging lets us detect whether our friends are busy without our bugging them, and texting lets us ping one another asynchronously.

In a way Twitter is like instant messaging. Instant messaging has stuck around through the ages as a free service but most of those services are supported by bigger businesses making money in other ways (MSN, AOL, Yahoo…) Maybe Google should/could buy out Twitter. :) And then again, sometimes businesses simply fail.

We quickly scheduled the date and time via Twitter private message, and exchanged usernames on Skype. Takeaway: Asking for help is a winning strategy in social media. Shauna also was able to instant message me a list of questions so I could see the text. Thanks to Judi for the correction.
