Decide on a Brandable Name Because these blogs write so much, they don’t have as many people coming to their blog via feed readers as you would expect. Can you really take in 50-60 posts every day from your favourite blog in your inbox or in Google Reader? And yeah, Wordpress is great.

If you’re going to use any of the tools below, I recommend you use them not only to give you an overview of your projects, but as indicators as to what you can change to increase your conversions. With Google Analytics, you would see huge traffic spikes the next day, and miss the opportunity to maximise conversions on that traffic.

What a conversion actually is varies from site to site, but for me, my conversions were product purchases and RSS subscriptions. First of all, I made my feed subscription options the first thing anyone sees in the blog sidebar so that they get a lot of views. And finally, I made sure to show my feed count.

The title is the most important part of your blog post as it gets shared on social media and helps feed readers decide whether a post is worth clicking through to read. To do this I upload my plain text draft into the Wordpress Dashboard and start reading it through. And remember, you are a writer.
