The budget workshops are in full swing, with the budget and finance committee (Councilors Cameron, Cronin, and me) listening to department heads overview their fiscal 2010 accomplishments, fiscal 2011 goals, and share why they are asking for so much per line item. and there is a public comment period at 9 each night.

On Monday night, the budget and finance committee met with the general government committee and discussed the issues. You can read a summary via the Daily News of the committee meeting, as well as their earlier story. Also, the current $5,000 expense was slated to reduce to $3,000. Of note, there are a number of mayoral board appointments to be confirmed and two ordinances to be referred to committees. A public comment period starts at 7:30 for anyone who would like to speak about items in the agenda. As you can see from scrolling below, the agenda is fairly uneventful compared to prior agendas.

At the last council meeting, an item was taken out of the license and permits committee to approve outdoor table service for Oregano’s Ristorante. I wasn’t on that committee and nobody had contacted me prior to that night. I thank those of you who respond to my blog posts, whether by in-line comments or reciprocal emails.
