They were costing me money, and not just from me buying domain names and hosting. I discovered AdSense (Google’s advertising network), and started putting their ads on my blog. Amazon was just a bookstore back then, and I was earning 4–5% commissions on $10 books. Back then they were quite ugly. This time Yahoo!

They’re the biggest (open) blog advertising network that I’m aware of, though in recent years they have featured more and more sites which aren’t blogs. Domain Age: March 2009. Ad Units: 2. This is one of those sites I mentioned when I said (and some non-blogs) in brackets. Who.unfollowed.me
