One of the things that I do throughout the year though is, I stockpile sites, blog posts, articles, tools and things that just catch my eye-Oh yea that’s called social bookmarking isn’t it? Social bookmarking – Bookmark and share all of your content at two or three social bookmarking sites daily. Social networking – Pick two or three social networks and be active on those networks about an hour every day. Article marketing – Article marketing is not dead. Is this hard?

This often includes submissions to directories and contacting webmasters of related websites. We’d exchange greetings when we passed in the dormitory hallways. Nine years later, we met again when we were assigned to the same tables at a local luncheon.

Directory Submissions By nature, directory links are of a very poor quality. Sometimes I’ll also pay $100 or so to BOTW.org which is a human-filtered directory which can give me some great link juice. As soon as I’m cached in this directory I find my rankings to increase almost instantly. This is gold.

Participate on Social Bookmarking Sites I really don’t like this tactic if I’m honest, but I can’t deny that social bookmarking links are helping a number of my sites rank. There are a lot of awful, highly spammed directories out there, but there are definitely a few worth looking for.
