It’s not enough to be insular and focus on your groups of friends. At business networking events, try to get to know people outside your group of trusted colleagues. We may be slightly different versions of ourself when with each of these different groups. I created an additional account for people in that group.

If you open a newspaper and take a look, even within the Sports section, their’s specific writers who consistently tackle specific topics. They rarely have one writer covering the details of every local sports team.

Why are they continually treated as a one or the other skill set when in reality both groups would be best served understanding what is on the other side of the fence? Just throw in enough free stuff – Give away a high end sports car for the video submitted that best depicts how they would feel if they won the car.
