My favorite thing about the WordPress blogging platform is that outside of the backend system, no two blogs operate the same way. PostRank – This nifty plugin rates your posts on engagement, sharing and some other variables and was recently acquired by Google. Image: Wikipedia. It has also increased the time spent on the site.

To speak to both of those: Because of the way my blog template is structured, its difficult to get the photo credit right under the photo. I think the little gray bar youre referring to is how copy shows up when I highlight something using the "block quote" button in WordPress. In this one, it happens to be a gray bar.

There are several other options, such as Flickr, Tumblr, WordPress, Blogger, etc… even Ping.fm. And Amplify makes it easy to set up and even simpler to post any way you like including templates that give any of a set of looks to you posts. I don’t auto-post to all of those, but it’s nice to have the option.
