My own desire to crack the AdAge 150 often has me banging my head on blog topic choices and how to drive my Alexa, Yahoo Backlinks, and PostRank ratings higher. It can be easy to get caught up with the numbers and try to stray away from what comes natural to you as a writer.

Most achieved a Postrank of higher then 6, and 9 out of the 10 articles dealt with social media. For those not familiar, Postrank is a nifty little WordPress plugin that provides some analysis into the social engagement factor of the content you create. These were the top 10 visited blog articles I wrote in the past year.

10 PostRank (50% higher then average). I knew running a contest would give my blog a traffic and engagement boost, but I was definitely curious to see how much exactly. Here’s the raw data: -31 Comments (6 times the norm). -30 30 Tweets (30-40% higher then average). 187 page views (about the norm).
