Once it’s set up on your site, users can log in using their Google, AOL, Yahoo, or OpenID account…no need to create another username and password. Currently it only offers a few “gadgets&# but I’m sure it will be rolling out more down the road.

We need to take the granular controls that sites like Facebook provide, and put them in the browser. I would specify which sites I give permission to have my data – name, address, phone number, email, location data, etc. Or maybe just a few sites become disabled. Facebook or Google? There is a solution though.

The extension, or in some cases native browser functionality, seeks to give users the option of completely turning off the ability for sites to track a user around the web, removing any personalization of ads and in some cases the removal of ads completely from the browsing experience. Or maybe just a few sites become disabled.

Initially I was only following about 10-20 people that I had already known from other sites but by tracking comments and digging through my friend’s followers, I built up a decent list of people to follow on Twitter. I say track away and hear what other people are saying about your favorite celebrity, product or city.
