I migrated my clients from Feedburner some time ago because the service was getting a little sketchy. Sometimes the feed would work, sometimes it would appear to be empty. So we moved some client sites to Feedblitz , others decided to use WordPress’s free built in RSS feed tool. Feedburner’s support has gone *poof*.

You’ll want to use a service like Feedburner to make it easy for visitors to subscribe by RSS or email. The money you’ll spend will save you a lot of time and headaches. Tweak The Theme.

Maybe you haven’t hidden your RSS feed. Are you handling your email subscriptions in Feedburner? I hope it’s not going into Feedburner. See, Feedburner is pretty lousy when it comes to email marketing. Feedburner’s free. Quit using Feedburner. Okay, I told you to quit using Feedburner.

You need to provide access to your list’s current home – mine was at Feedburner so I had to provide my Google email/password. A lot of people use it just for their newsletter so they keep a separate email option for blog post updates – usually Feedburner or Feedblitz. I find this very wise on their part.

You could almost skip the aspect of setting up the layout of the blog and just start posting, going with the default blog template provided by Tumblr. Reading – includes what your homepage will display, how many blog posts to show, and what will be displayed in the RSS feed. Analytics for the RSS Feed.
