Google is still very powerful, people read blogs, watch YouTube, use Twitter and social bookmarking sites to find their content. There are several other options, such as Flickr, Tumblr, WordPress, Blogger, etc… even Ping.fm. It really is a community. After using both Plurk and Twitter pretty heavily, I’ve come to the conclusion that Plurk is best at its features for community-building, whereas Twitter succeeds more with its interface that bolsters information-sharing. I find it to be especially valuable and hassle-free for updating Twitter, Facebook, and LInkedin simultaneously. I do this only occasionally, however, as my friends/followers on each site don’t have much overlap. Twitter Tweetdeck I use Tweetdeck for serious twitter sessions. I implement bit.ly I’ve tried Foursquare , too.
