Regardless, here are my 9 favorite social media iPhone apps. Tweetie 2 – In my opinion, the crown jewel of Twitter iPhone apps. My fav app to find everything on the go, and read reviews from the community. Byline – There are quite a few RSS iPhone apps, but I’ve found Byline to fill my needs quite nicely.

While I have not experienced their mobile apps outside of Apple devices, their iPhone and iPad apps are horrendous. Have you ever heard anyone ever say something positive about Facebook when it comes to customer service, feedback consideration or anything when it comes to community interaction?

It’s the only one of the three that truly has a community feel to it. I’m using their iPhone app and it’s beautiful. I’m Yelper, so it just became natural to be hooked on that since my community is with Yelp. That probably only leaves room for one more player, and I certainly hope it’s Whrrl. Beyond Checking In.

It’s the only one of the three that truly has a community feel to it. I’m using their iPhone app and it’s beautiful. Facebook Places will survive because it’s Facebook, and Foursquare has carved out a giant piece of the location based pie so they’re most likely in. So why I’m I on board the Whrrl train? What really makes the platform as successful as it is, are the thousands of themes and plugins that the WordPress community contributes. These add ons turn what essentially is a blogging platform, into just about any type of site you want from community to content management systems to storefronts. It truly is amazing.
