If you’ve stopped by the blog recently instead of only catching up via a feed reader such as Google Reader then you noticed about a month ago I switched over to the Genesis theme framework (affiliate link) and chose to use the Prose child theme.

What you want to do is take your keywords, do some searches, and then get the RSS feed of that search sent to your Google Reader or feed reader of your choice. If you’re not using an RSS reader use Google’s, it will make your life easier.

My second objection is that just because you mention let say bird feeders that doesn't mean you're looking to buy one. If I was looking to buy one, then I guess it would be alright. Following in the hopes they will follow you back and buy your stuff is not a good strategy. What do you think?

You never know until you check out their feed. By studying their feed, you can learn a lot more about how important social media is to them. You can subscribe to your friends’ feeds, but you’ll easily drown in the frequency of updates. What can you learn about me? Perhaps they’re insomniacs.

You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers. Around two years ago I had over 350 feeds in there as I was a total information junkie.

June 1st : 6,866 May 31st : 7,543 Change : +677 I really don’t know what is going on (I’m still down over 1,000 Google Reader subscribers compared to usual) so that would suggest I’m at least over 8,500. If you’re reading this in a feed reader or inbox, thanks for subscribing!

When people are reading your blog posts, they’re getting value, so you want to take that opportunity to either get them to buy something, opt-in to something or read more of your content. Implement a Feed Footer. Something a lot of bloggers could benefit from – but don’t implement – is a feed footer.
