Communicating and getting to know people is WAY more important to me than impressing anyone or becoming known as an expert resource. While my personal one is not “secret&# per se, and even has the same avatar/photo as my professional one, I find it much more useful to compartmentalize, both for following others and being followed.

Add an avatar and a bio at the minimum. Social News (Digg, Sphinn, Mixx, Reddit, Tip’d, and a whole load of related sites) Submitting only your own articles and posts to social media sites. Once upon a time, I stumbled upon a Digg submission of a Sphinn submission of a blog post. Not humanizing your profile.
