product sales (ebooks, presets, course and printables) – 31%. They were taking up a lot of my time (by this stage I’d started a second blog where I reviewed digital cameras). I discovered AdSense (Google’s advertising network), and started putting their ads on my blog. AdSense – 8%. sponsorship – 6%. miscellaneous – 1%.

Other blogs in Alice’s niche were running online courses, selling out hundred people live events around the country, selling ads to fortune 500 companies, authoring best selling eBook and more. I vastly improved how I was implementing the programs ( better ad positioning , writing reviews for affiliate products).

I built a second blog where I reviewed digital cameras. I was mostly linking to books. Promoted eBooks and products for other blogs. Added other advertising networks. ProBlogger Book Published by Wiley. Launched an eBook on ProBlogger. We have since launched 35 eBooks. 20 a month on first one.

The same thing happened when I moved from just having advertising and affiliate promotions as the bulk of my income and then started to create ebooks. Advertising networks, that was my first one. It’s very easy to say monetize your blog with courses but I only did courses because I did ebooks.
