As a college graduate and early adopter of Facebook (in 2004), I could definitely see that. Why did I join in 2004? One was in college in 2004, while the other was in high school. I’m a borderline user of both social networks; I graduated from college in 2003, but joined Facebook when it established in 2004.

You will notice that all these blogs did not just start yesterday or even last year. They have been around for years now.

The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. Social media connections are those I know through a variety of online forums, the blogosphere, Twitter, and the like (but I generally don’t befriend someone immediately; I still give it time). The jury is still out for me on Twitter.

In fact, you can validate that by cross checking my user ID, 102991, which should indicate that I’ve been around for a real long time (since February 2004, to be more precise). I want Facebook to look at this guy on Twitter. The problem is that Twitter didn’t try to market itself as a private platform.
