I wish I could show you an actual traffic chart of ProBlogger’s growth but when I started it back in 2004 I didn’t have Google Analytics installed (it didn’t come along until 2006, from memory). We started a forum in time, too, to build this community further. Let’s start with ProBlogger.

Grow Traffic to Your Blog Through Guest Posting and Creating Content for Other Blogs, Forums, Media and Events. Back in, I think it must have been 2004, I’ve been blogging for a couple of years by this point, and for the first year I didn’t even know you could make money from your blog. I learned SEO in that period.

The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. Social media connections are those I know through a variety of online forums, the blogosphere, Twitter, and the like (but I generally don’t befriend someone immediately; I still give it time). I had many friends just like that.

See, I’m one of those Facebook users who have been on the service since February 2004, which is quite a long time considering Facebook was open to about three schools at the time that I signed up. I may have met these individuals by chance (long-standing relationship) or through the blogosphere or forums. It’s not.

It’s like Reddit and you could get your content voted up onto the front page. They left negative comments and they destroyed the community on my blog. ” I actually think community is king and content, so it certainly goes alongside it. That’s where real community happens. Does anyone remember Digg?
